Washbox™ Cleaning System

The Martin® Washbox™ Cleaning System is an advanced secondary cleaning solution installed along the conveyor’s return run to provide superior belt cleaning through water application. By gently spray-applying water, the system softens carryback for effective removal, ensuring a high level of material recovery for medium to heavy-duty industrial operations.

Comprehensive Cleaning Hardware

Equipped with a robust system of 3 rollers, 4 spray bars, and 2 secondary cleaners to ensure thorough belt washing and scraping.

Material Softening Technology

Utilises a gentle spray-apply method to soften carryback rather than high-pressure “blasting,” leading to more effective material removal.

Industrial Enclosure

Features a powder-coated steel enclosure with 4 inspection doors, allowing for safe and easy maintenance access.

Product Overview

The Martin® Washbox™ Conveyor Belt Cleaning System provides an advanced technical solution for sites requiring high-efficiency carryback control. The system is housed in a powder-coated steel enclosure and is engineered to soften stubborn material using a series of 4 spray bars.

Once the material is softened, 2 secondary cleaners perform the final scraping, supported by 3 internal rollers that maintain belt stability throughout the process. For optimal results, Martin Engineering recommends that this system be paired with a pre-cleaner installed on the face of the head pulley.

This combination of water application and mechanical scraping makes the Washbox™ one of the most effective belt cleaning technologies available for medium to heavy-tonnage applications.

Applications

The Martin® Washbox™ is suited for demanding medium to heavy-duty applications across diverse industrial environments.

The system is engineered for belt widths ranging from 400 mm up to 2200 mm (18 to 84 inches). It maintains high-efficiency performance at belt speeds of up to 3.8 m/s (750 fpm).

How the Washbox™ Cleaning System Works

The Washbox™ operates by enclosing the return run of the conveyor belt within a steel structure. As the belt passes through, 4 internal spray bars apply water to soften the carryback, preparing it for removal.

3 rollers support the belt as 2 secondary cleaners scrape away the softened material. The enclosure ensures all water and material are contained, while 4 inspection doors allow technicians to monitor the internal components without exposing the rest of the plant to moisture or dust.
