Food Grade Cleaner
The Martin® Food Grade Belt Cleaner is specifically engineered to meet the cleaning and hygiene requirements of belt conveyors within the food processing and packaging industries.
Features modular belt cleaner blades mounted on rugged stainless steel mainframes to ensure compliance with strict food-safe standards.
Supplied with an internal spring tensioner as standard to maintain consistent blade-to-belt pressure without external clutter.
Available in high-density polyethylene or nylon blade formulations to suit the specific material handling needs of your production line.
The Martin® Food Grade Cleaner is designed to fit the conveyor specifications and belt cleaning requirements of the food processing and packaging sectors. By mounting directly on the face of the head pulley, the system is engineered to reclaim material into the product stream, reducing both waste and manual cleanup chores.
The system utilises a modular design on stainless steel mainframes, which allows for easier maintenance and ensures the unit is suited for the environmental demands of food processing facilities. Whether configured as a primary scraper or a secondary cleaner, the unit provides a cleaning solution for belts carrying light to medium-duty loads.
The Martin® Food Grade Cleaner is engineered for light to medium-duty applications on belt widths ranging from 102 mm up to 1219 mm (4 to 48 inches). It is designed to operate on head pulleys with diameters between 152 mm and 250 mm (6 to 10 inches).
The system maintains cleaning performance at belt speeds up to 1.78 m/s (350 fpm) and is rated for service in temperatures ranging from -34°C to 82°C (-30°F to 180°F). While the unit is suitable for use in corrosive conditions and can accommodate mechanical splices, it is not rated for underground applications or reversing belts.
The system operates by positioning modular cleaning blades against the belt surface to intercept residual carryback. When installed as a primary cleaner on the head pulley face, the blades divert material back into the primary product flow.
The internal spring tensioner provides the radial force necessary to maintain the blades against the belt. This ensures that as the blades (available in high-density polyethylene or nylon) wear down, the tensioner automatically adjusts to maintain cleaning pressure. This tensioning is critical for belts operating at speeds up to 1.78 m/s, where consistent pressure is required to prevent carryback bypass.
