SQC2S™ Orion Secondary
The Martin® SQC2S™ Orion Secondary Belt Cleaner is recognised as a highly versatile solution for a broad range of demanding bulk handling applications.
Utilises a unique flexing mount designed to cushion impact from mechanical splices while maintaining consistent cleaning pressure.
The blades are engineered with a specialised “paint-scraper” angle to provide maximum removal of stubborn carryback.
A narrow, compact profile allows for installation in close quarters and restricted chutes while effectively resisting material buildup.
The Martin® SQC2S™ Orion Secondary is engineered to handle the final layers of carryback on high-performance conveyor systems. Featuring tungsten carbide blade tips with individually machined adjustments, the system provides effective and long-lasting cleaning results.
The Orion system is designed for medium to heavy-duty applications on belt widths up to 2400 mm and speeds reaching 7.5 m/s. To ensure consistent contact across the entire belt profile, the blades conform by adjusting individually. This adaptability, combined with a unique blade shield that allows removed material to slide off without build-up, ensures the Orion remains efficient even in high-tonnage environments.

The Martin® SQC2S™ Orion Secondary is specifically suited for demanding industrial and mining settings, including underground and corrosive environments.
It is rated for belt widths ranging from 400 mm up to 2400 mm (18 to 96 inches). The system maintains high-efficiency performance at belt speeds of up to 7.5 m/s (1500 fpm) and is rated for service in extreme temperatures ranging from -34°C to 149°C (-30°F to 300°F).
The Orion Secondary operates by utilising a blade holder that flexes to allow the blade tip to deflect in the direction of belt travel. This motion is critical for splice passage, as it prevents the cleaner from snagging or damaging the belt.
Tension is managed by specialised Orion Secondary Tensioners, which allow for simple alteration of blade-to-belt pressure. A lock pin secures the tensioner in place to maintain constant tension regardless of blade wear. For sites with restricted access, a Farside Tension Adjuster is available to allow all tension adjustments to be made from a single side of the belt.
