SQC2S™ Belt Cleaner

The Martin® SQC2S™ is a highly versatile secondary belt cleaner designed for a broad range of demanding industrial applications. It combines rugged construction with a compact footprint to provide a reliable, high-performance solution for removing residual carryback from high-speed, high-tonnage conveyor belts.

INDIVIDUALLY-CUSHIONED BLADES

Features tungsten carbide blades supported by patented rubber buffers that maintain consistent cleaning pressure while adjusting individually to follow the belt profile.

COMPACT, NARROW PROFILE

The streamlined design allows installation in restricted chutes and tight areas where traditional cleaners may not fit, while the narrow profile resists material build-up.

RAPID BLADE REPLACEMENT

Engineered for ease of maintenance with a simple one-pin operation; simply remove the pin and slide the blade cartridge out for fast, safe servicing.

Product Overview

The Martin® SQC2S™ Secondary Cleaner is engineered to remove the final layers of carryback that primary cleaners leave behind. By installing it at the point where the belt leaves the discharge pulley, it ensures fugitive material is returned to the main flow, significantly reducing cleanup costs and protecting your conveyor infrastructure.

Built to withstand the punishing forces of high-speed belts and high-tonnage loads, the SQC2S™ utilises patented rubber buffers to maintain precise cleaning pressure. These buffers allow the blades to deflect safely when encountering mechanical splices or belt reversals, preventing damage to the belt, splice, or the cleaner itself. This versatility makes it the primary choice for sites looking for a durable secondary cleaning solution that adapts effectively to both standard and reversing conveyor systems

Applications

The Martin® SQC2S™ Secondary Cleaner is specifically engineered for medium to heavy-duty applications across a variety of settings, including underground and corrosive environments.

This robust system is designed to operate reliably in service temperatures ranging from -34°C to 149°C and remains fully functional during reversing cycles or belt rollback. It provides high-efficiency cleaning for belt widths ranging from 400 mm up to 2400 mm and is rated for extreme belt speeds of up to 7.5 m/s.

How the SQC2S™ Cleaner Works

The SQC2S™ operates by applying consistent radial pressure to the return side of the belt via its spring or air tensioning system. Each 75 mm (3-inch) wide tungsten carbide blade is mounted on an individual rubber buffer.

As the belt passes over the cleaner, these buffers maintain the cleaning edge at the optimal angle against the belt surface. Because each blade adjusts independently, the cleaner can follow undulations and centre-wear on the belt without losing contact.

When a mechanical splice or obstruction approaches, the rubber buffers compress and deflect, allowing the splice to pass over the blades safely without snagging or damaging the belt.

Operational Benefits

  • Reversing Belt Compatible

Patented buffers allow the belt to run in either direction or roll back without the need to retract the cleaner.

  • Underground Approved

Specifically rated and safe for use in underground mining applications across Australia.

  • Mechanical Splice Safe

Individually cushioned blades deflect to accommodate mechanical fasteners and longitudinal splices safely.

  • One-Pin Maintenance

The slide-out cartridge design transforms blade replacement into a fast, safe, and simple procedure.

FAQs

Yes. The patented rubber buffers are engineered to allow for reversal of belt direction and rollback without damaging the belt or the cleaner, removing the need for manual retraction.

Blade replacement is performed by removing a single pin and sliding the entire blade cartridge out from the side of the conveyor. This reduces the time workers spend inside or near the chute, making the maintenance process faster and significantly safer.

Martin® provides a range of tungsten carbide tips tailored for normal, acidic, or high-impact conditions, alongside specialised flame-retardant rubber buffers for underground or hazardous zones.
