SHD 1200 Series Cleaner
Engineered for the widest and fastest conveyor systems in the world, the Martin® SHD 1200 Series is a super heavy-duty primary cleaner designed for head pulleys exceeding 1200 mm (48 inches).
Built with high-strength structural steel to eliminate bent mainframes, even when handling high tonnages and massive material lumps.
Equipped with heavy-duty urethane blades providing a staggering 305 mm (12 inches) of wear life for extended service intervals.
Specifically designed to operate reliably on reversing belts, ensuring the conveyor remains centred regardless of the direction of travel.
The Martin® SHD 1200 Series Cleaner is a dedicated solution for super heavy-duty applications where standard scrapers simply cannot survive. By designing the cleaner and its tensioning system as a unified unit, Martin Engineering has achieved a scraper that delivers consistent high-pressure cleaning with significantly lower maintenance demands.
This system is built to handle high tonnages, protecting your belt and splices from premature wear while recovering valuable material. Because it is specifically engineered for pulleys 1200 mm and larger, it provides the correct geometric contact required to maintain cleaning efficiency on the most demanding conveyor systems.

The Martin® SHD 1200 Series Cleaner is the industry choice for super heavy-duty primary cleaning on high-capacity conveyors, including underground and corrosive environments.
This robust system operates reliably in service temperatures ranging from -34°C to 149°C and is fully compatible with reversing belts or systems prone to roll-back. It is specifically engineered for head pulley diameters of 1200 mm (48 inches) or larger, handling belt widths up to 3000 mm and extreme belt speeds of up to 7.5 m/s.
The SHD 1200 Series operates by mounting a massive, structural steel mainframe across the head pulley. This frame is engineered to withstand the extreme forces of high-speed belts without bending or chattering.
Tension is applied via a Martin® Spring Link Tensioner, which stores mechanical energy to keep the blades firmly seated against the belt surface.
As the high-volume urethane wears, the patented CARP design ensures that the cleaning angle stays consistent, preventing any drop in performance throughout the 305 mm of wearable urethane.
For wide belts, the system can be fitted with Turnbuckle Tensioners on both sides of the pulley to ensure even, cross-belt cleaning pressure.

The 1200 series is specifically designed to achieve the correct constant angle geometry for pulley diameters 1200 mm (48 inches) or larger. Using the incorrect series on a large pulley will negatively affect cleaning efficiency and blade life.
Yes. The structural steel mainframe is designed specifically to withstand high tonnages and large material lumps without bending, making it ideal for ROM primary applications.
Because the cleaner and tensioner are designed together, they require fewer manual adjustments over the life of the blade. This reduces the total “site-time” needed for maintenance and decreases the frequency of service interventions.
Yes. Martin Engineering provides colour-coded, high-performance urethanes to suit specific application requirements, including high-temperature or chemical-resistant site conditions.
