QC1™ Cleaner PD

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner PD features a patented curved, one-piece urethane blade designed for maximum scraper life and rapid replacement.

HIGH-VOLUME URETHANE

The high-volume blade features 20% more urethane than competitive cleaners, providing an extended wear life and more efficient material recovery.

CARP TECHNOLOGY

Utilises Martin’s “CARP” (Constant Angle Radial Pressure) profile, ensuring the blade maintains the most effective cleaning angle throughout its service life.

STURDY MAINFRAME

Constructed with a 73 mm (2.875 in) OD Schedule 80 steel pipe mainframe to withstand rugged conditions, large pulleys, and heavy material loads.

Product Overview

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner PD is a high-performance primary cleaner that balances durability with ease of maintenance. Its patented one-piece urethane blade is specifically curved to maintain consistent contact with the belt, significantly minimising carryback and protecting your conveyor infrastructure.

This system is designed to save money at every stage—from the initial purchase to reduced maintenance requirements and fast blade replacements. By providing a rugged spring tensioner that allows for easy re-tensioning with minimal downtime, the QC1™ PD ensures your operations remain productive even in the most demanding industrial environments.

Applications

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner PD is engineered for light to heavy-duty primary cleaning on conveyor systems in diverse settings, including underground and corrosive environments.

This robust system operates reliably in service temperatures ranging from -34°C to 82°C and is fully compatible with reversing belts or systems experiencing roll-back. It provides efficient cleaning for belt widths up to 2200 mm and is rated for belt speeds of up to 4.6 m/s on head pulley diameters ranging from 400 mm to 500 mm.

How the QC1™ Cleaner PD Works

The system operates using Martin’s unique Constant Angle Radial Pressure (CARP) technology. This design ensures that as the urethane blade wears, the tensioner automatically adjusts to maintain a consistent cleaning angle and pressure against the belt surface.

The high-volume blade—containing 20% more material than industry alternatives—is supported by a heavy-duty Schedule 80 steel pipe mainframe. This combination allows the cleaner to effectively intercept carryback at the discharge pulley while safely accommodating mechanical splices and belt undulations.

Operational Benefits

  • Quick-Change Blade

Designed for rapid replacement, allowing maintenance teams to swap worn blades with minimal tools and downtime.

  • Mechanical Splice Friendly

Specifically engineered to glide over mechanical splices safely without damaging the cleaner or the belt.

  • Optional Twist™ Tensioner

Can be fitted with the Martin® Twist™ Tensioner for alternative tensioning requirements in restricted spaces.

  • Customisable Blade Profiles

Blades are available as segments or slits to suit specific material characteristics and belt conditions.

FAQs

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner PD blade contains 20% more urethane than competitors. This directly translates to a longer wear life, meaning fewer blade changes and a lower total cost of maintenance over the life of the cleaner.

Yes. The system is specifically rated for use with reversing belts and roll-back conditions, ensuring the cleaner remains safe and effective regardless of belt direction.

Absolutely. The QC1™ PD is designed for corrosive conditions and is certified for use in underground mining applications.

As standard, the QC1™ Cleaner PD blades are sized to match the width of the conveyed material, which is typically the belt width less 200 mm (8 inches).
