Compact Cleaner

The Martin® Compact Cleaner is the smallest primary cleaner in the Martin® range, specifically engineered to fit in tight quarters where space is limited.

ULTRA-COMPACT FOOTPRINT

Designed to fit in spaces with as little as 171 mm of clearance, making it ideal for restricted chutes and small conveyor frames.

CARP TECHNOLOGY

Incorporates the patented Constant Angle Radial Pressure (CARP) design to maintain effective cleaning across the entire life of the blade.

INTERNAL TENSIONING

Supplied with an internal spring tensioner that maintains consistent pressure while keeping the external profile as small as possible.

Product Overview

The Martin® Compact Cleaner is the ultimate solution for primary belt cleaning in applications where traditional, larger scrapers simply cannot fit. Despite its small size, it utilises a rugged square tube mainframe and high-performance urethane blades to ensure thorough material removal from the discharge pulley.

This system is designed for ease of maintenance, allowing for rapid blade replacement by simply sliding a new blade onto the square tube mainframe. By utilising Martin’s proprietary colour-coded urethanes, the cleaner can be tailored to meet specific site requirements, whether dealing with standard, high-temperature, or abrasive materials.

Applications

The Martin® Compact Cleaner is suited for light to medium-duty applications in a variety of industrial settings, including underground and corrosive environments.

This versatile system is designed to operate reliably in service temperatures ranging from -34°C to 82°C and is fully compatible with reversing belts or systems prone to roll-back. It provides efficient cleaning for belt widths ranging from 305 mm to 1400 mm and is rated for belt speeds up to 1.8 m/s on pulley diameters between 152 mm and 250 mm.

How the Compact Cleaner Works

The system operates by utilising an internal spring tensioner that applies a constant force to the square tube mainframe, pushing the urethane blade against the belt surface. This internal design is critical for maintaining a low profile in tight clearance areas.

As the belt rotates over the discharge pulley, the patented CARP (Constant Angle Radial Pressure) blade profile ensures that the cleaning angle remains optimal even as the urethane wears down. This prevents the drop-off in efficiency common in standard small-scale cleaners, ensuring that carryback is diverted into the discharge stream throughout the entire service life of the blade.

Operational Benefits

  • Rapid Blade Change

The square tube mainframe allows maintenance teams to slide a new blade into position quickly, reducing downtime.

  • Small Pulley Compatibility

Engineered specifically to work effectively on pulleys with diameters as small as 152 mm.

  • Mechanical Splice Friendly

Safe for use on belts with mechanical splices, providing versatile cleaning without risking belt damage.

  • Customisable Urethanes

Blades are available in solid or segmented profiles with colour-coded urethanes to suit specific material types.

FAQs

The Martin® Compact Cleaner is designed for extremely tight quarters and can fit in spaces with as little as 171 mm of clearance around the pulley.

Yes. The Compact Cleaner is rated and safe for use in underground mining applications, as well as in corrosive industrial conditions.

Blade replacement is designed to be fast and simple. You simply disengage the tension and slide the old blade off the square tube mainframe, then slide the new blade into its place.

No. The internal spring is designed to provide consistent pressure while remaining protected inside the unit, helping to maintain cleaning efficiency with minimal manual adjustment.
