QC1™ Cleaner XHD

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner XHD provides high-durability primary belt scraper performance for the most challenging primary cleaner applications.

CARP TECHNOLOGY

Features a patented Constant Angle Radial Pressure (CARP) design, ensuring the blade maintains a consistent and effective cleaning angle throughout all stages of its life.

RUGGED MAINFRAME

Constructed with heavy-duty 9.5 mm (3/8 in) thick DOM steel tubing and a steel bar backbone for maximum structural integrity in extra heavy-duty settings.

LOWER COST OF OWNERSHIP

An economical pre-cleaner and tensioner system that combines effective cleaning with a durable wear life to reduce long-term maintenance requirements.

Product Overview

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner XHD is a powerhouse in primary belt cleaning, specifically designed for large-scale conveyor operations and heavy material loads. By utilising a mainframe of rugged 9.5 mm thick DOM steel tubing, the system provides the structural stability required for large pulleys and high-tension environments.

A key design feature is the aluminium extrusion in the blade base, which ensures the cleaner is held snugly to the steel backbone, preventing chatter and optimising contact with the belt. This robust engineering allows the XHD to tackle the most demanding bulk handling tasks, providing reliable carryback removal in environments where standard cleaners may fail.

Applications

The Martin® QC1™ Cleaner XHD is specifically engineered for extra heavy-duty primary cleaning on large-scale conveyor systems in demanding mining and industrial settings, including underground and corrosive environments.

This versatile system operates reliably in service temperatures ranging from -34°C to 149°C and remains fully functional during reversing cycles or roll-back conditions. It provides high-efficiency cleaning for belt widths up to 3048 mm and is rated for extreme belt speeds of up to 6.1 m/s on pulley diameters between 609 mm and 760 mm.

How the QC1™ Cleaner XHD Works

The system operates using Martin’s patented CARP design to ensure the blade maintains the most effective cleaning angle throughout its entire wear life. This is achieved by the blade profile reacting to the radial pressure applied by the tensioner—most commonly the recommended Martin® Spring Tensioner XHD.

As the urethane blade wears, the tensioning system automatically compensates to keep the tip at the correct angle against the belt surface. This consistent pressure, supported by the rugged steel backbone and aluminium-reinforced blade base, allows the cleaner to effectively “shave” carryback from the belt even at speeds exceeding 6 m/s.

FAQs

The heavy-duty DOM steel tubing provides the structural rigidity required for large pulleys and high belt speeds, preventing the cleaner from twisting or chattering under heavy material loads.

By maintaining a consistent cleaning angle throughout the blade’s life, CARP technology ensures cleaning performance doesn’t degrade as the blade wears, requiring fewer manual adjustments than standard primary cleaners.

Yes. The system is suited for belt widths up to 3048 mm (120 inches). For belt widths above 1800 mm (72 inches), we recommend contacting Oreflow for specific configuration advice.

Yes. The QC1™ Cleaner XHD is rated for corrosive conditions, making it ideal for harsh mineral processing and industrial environments.
